Butterfly 2 in 1 Pajama Case & Cushion

This design is an incredibly versatile pattern.  I am using this as a place to keep my daughters PJ’s safe on her bed, but it could also be used as a regular pillow, by making a few adjustments and adding a pillow form.  You could even use the chart to create a butterfly for a blanket, the side of a bag or a wall hanging??

Whatever you decide to make from my pattern, I’d love to see it!

Notes

To make this pattern for a 12″ x 12″ pillow form, simply add 5 white rows at the beginning, and 5 white rows at the end.

The front panel (butterfly) is made using the intarsia crochet technique, you drop your working yarn for the new yarn needed, if using this colour again soon you can loosely carry the yarn across the back of your work.  For some sections you will find it easier to wind a small ball for each colour.

To change colour – Make the last step of your last stitch in the new colour, so….for the last yarn over, pull though two loops on your hook – do this with your new colour.

The begining on every row on the front panel starts with Yarn A – White.

Ch1 does NOT count as a stitch, Ch3 does count as a stitch.

  1. This is GORGEOUS!! I just finished a 6-color C2C wall hanging (using yarn bobbins, wound on my fingers, then wrapped a bit around the center and ends tucked in) and must catch my breath with easy pieces, but I am bookmarking THIS page. I love working with DK yarn. I love the stunning simplicity… Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
