This time last year, I had my first design published in a crochet magazine!
I was asked by Simply Crochet Magazine, to take part in the Hook to Hook challenge, where two designers get sent the same yarn & have the same brief, the rest is up to you. The brief was to design a dream catcher with a Winter theme.
My design, Winter Dream Catcher was featured in issue 80 of Simply Crochet you can subscribe to a digital version or the print magazine here, right now you can get 5 issues for £5!!
Inspiration & Design
Designing for magazines had been a dream of mine since buying my very first crochet magazine, seeing all of the designers that I loved and followed, reading their stories in awe of their talent and achievements. I knew that this was something that I wanted, I wanted to see my designs in print! The year of 2019 was my year, I not only featured once but five times! I was lucky enough to feature in Simply Crochet again, twice in Inside Crochet & also Crochet Now. Keep your eyes peeled, as in the coming months I will be releasing them in my shops & talking about them on my blog.
The Winter Dream Catcher is my take on all things Winter. A giant, sparkly, frosty white snowflake, paired with cool blue & purple stars, & let’s not forget the tassels!
This dream catcher would make a lovely gift or maybe it’s for yourself? Either way I’m sure you’ll enjoy hooking up this simple yet beautiful design.
