Inspiration & Design

At this moment in time, our world as we know it is going through some rough times.  With the worries of the pandemic, new rules have been put in place, we see changes to our daily routines, all so not to spread the virus…..Covid-19.

So many people have started raising spirits by hanging drawn, painted, crochet & pompom rainbows in their windows.  I wanted to make one too, but with a slight difference, I had a play & designed a simple little rainbow which I posted on my Instagram account, it got a lot of love, so I thought I’d share it here aswell.

I posted two variations of the pattern to suit everyone’s varying crochet tension, yarn & hooks.

Which one would be best for you?

Have a read below to find out, if you’re still not sure…… make both then decide, they literally take 10 minutes to make, you will more than likely spend longer deciding what colours to use.

My first version (V.1) is perfect for those with tight tension as there are more stitches in each row.

My second version (V.2) is for those with a looser tension, looking for a neater bottom! I took a few stitches out & altered the beginning chain for one row, this one looks more uniform on the V row.

Yarn

Knitcraft Cotton Blend yarn – a blend of 50% cotton and 50% acrylic, It offers all the benefits of cotton yarn with the softness and durability of acrylic and comes in some fantastic pastel & bright shades.

For this pattern I used the following colour combinations:

Hot Pink, Light Blue & Lilac

Coral, Mustard, Teal, Denim & Purple

Denim, Light Blue & White
