Trinity Belle Shawl

I’m so excited to share my latest design with you today it’s my first Shawl pattern, the Trinity Belle Shawl.

Design & Inspiration

For a while now I’ve wanted to design & make a shawl with a right-angled triangular shape!  Sometimes the timing isn’t right, other ideas take priority or you haven’t found the perfect yarn.  When I discovered Woollyccino I knew immediatley that any one of their gorgeous yarns would be just perfect.

What’s in a name?

Ok, so here is how I chose the name for this shawl…

Trinity: meaning three things, a triangle has three sides & three points.

Belle: is the name of the Disney princess from Beauty in the Beast, the yarn is called Beauty!

Yarn

The yarn I used is hand dyed by an amazing UK based indie dyer – Woollyccino, the colour way is called ‘Beauty’.

75% superwash merino with 25% nylon in fingering/sock weight (4ply) 100g

They hand dye the most beautiful merino/nylon yarn in either DK or 4ply & offer some amazing colourways at very affordable prices too….check out their Instagram page for more details @woollyccino

This yarn was actually a giveaway prize that I was lucky enough to win, I couldn’t have been more happy with my prize.  I won two hanks, they came lovingly wrapped in a pretty pink ribbon.  I love to see hand dyed yarn in a hank, & find balling it up my self gives me the opportunity to appreciate the colours before working with it, but I believe they will wind it into a ball for you if you prefer.

Adjustments

If you’d prefer to make this shawl in a thicker weight yarn, like my tester did!  Then just take into consideration that the shawl will work up bigger & chunkier than my stated sizes.  Try it on as you go and just stop when you’re happy with the size.

My friend tested this shawl for me in an Aran weight yarn and stopped after about row 95. Check out her Instagram page for some pictures – @nai.nai.makes
